Band 7 essays are not about rare words — they are about clear position, developed ideas and flexible linking.
The plan
- Introduction (2 sentences): paraphrase the question + state your position.
- Body 1: topic sentence → explanation → specific example → link back.
- Body 2: same structure for your second reason or the other view.
- Conclusion: restate position with a forward-looking sentence.
Spend 5 minutes planning. Candidates who plan write more coherent essays and rarely go off-topic.
